Privacy

Last updated 7 October 2026. This covers ceplin.com and its waitlist. It is short because we collect very little.

Who we are

Ceplin runs ceplin.com and is the controller of the personal data it collects. Write to us at contact@ceplin.com about anything on this page.

What we collect

There are no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts, and the site loads nothing from anyone else unless you play the film (below). Our web server keeps no access logs.

The film

The film on the front page is hosted on YouTube. Until you press play, the page shows a picture served from ceplin.com and contacts no one else. When you press play, it loads YouTube's player from its privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com), and from then on YouTube, a Google service, handles what it collects under Google's privacy policy. Pressing play is your choice to load it.

Why, and on what basis

We use your email address for one thing: to tell you when your spot is ready and send your invite. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR), which you give by joining and can withdraw at any time. Counting attempts by IP address rests on our legitimate interest in keeping the form working and free of abuse (Article 6(1)(f)).

We don't sell your address, share it for anyone else's marketing, or use it for advertising.

Who else handles it

The site runs on a server we rent, and when someone joins, our server may email us a note through our email provider. Both act only on our instructions. Where either processes data in another country, the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Until you have been invited, or until Ceplin opens to everyone, whichever comes first. Then we delete it. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw your consent. Email contact@ceplin.com and we will reply within a month. Leaving the waitlist doesn't need a reason.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live. We'd be grateful for the chance to put it right first.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. If we ever want to use your address for something new, we will ask you first.
